Blue Stars Weekly News, Recap, and Preview
Welcome Back! We hope you had a good holiday.
This week’s theme was Garage/Transportation. In dramatic play the children played in the Acorn mechanic shop repairing, painting, and washing cars and bicycles. They were very busy answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and making sure customers paid their bills at the mechanic shop. The Blue Stars also enjoyed an obstacle course and a wooden train set in the motor room.
Art this week: Oil pastels, car tracks painting, easel painting and playdough.
Literature this week: Have you Filled a Bucket Today, Mortimer Mole’s Wheel Wagon, Wheel Away, Little Red Caboose, Dragon in a Wagon, Engine Engine #9.
Upcoming Themes: 1/8- 1/18 Garage/Transportation

*Mark your calendar for Monday, February 4th 10:30-11:30—Blue Star Grandparents Day! Please check with your child’s grandparents to see if they will be attending our celebration that day. More information will be sent home very soon!
*Please label ALL your child’s winter items: coats, hats, gloves, etc. Also, please make sure your child’s extra clothes are weather appropriate (long pants, please!)
*Just a reminder- car pick-up each day begins at 11:30 and ends at 11:40. Acorn policy is that kids are called to the gate, front porch, or office at 11:45. Thank you for giving the teachers time to clean the rooms before the afternoon classes begin preparing for their day!
*Show and Tell is every other Friday. Please send your child’s Show & Tell item inside the “doggie bag” and encourage them on some points of interest to share with friends.
Thank you Blue Star parents for your wonderful Christmas gifts! We are so thankful to be teaching your children and we were all touched that you would think of us during this special time! We are thankful for all you do to support the learning and growth that happens at school each day.
Enrollment forms are being distributed. You can turn them in beginning next Monday. Thanks.
