Five Day Morning Class News 11/30/18

November 30, 2018
By The Five Day Morning Team

We returned from our Thanksgiving Holiday to The Acorn Bakery!. In dramatic play the children helped make salt dough for making bread, muffins, cookies, and variety of other things to cook in the pretend oven. They dressed up with aprons and bakers hats to complete the experience.

Art this week: finger painting, making salt dough, golf ball rolling, cinnamon toast, water colors.

Literature this week: If you Give a Mouse a Cookie, This is the Bread I baked for Ned, Bread and Jam for Frances, Ginger Bread Baby, Bread Bread Bread.

** Parents of Lunch Bunch kiddos on Tues and Wed: We recommend that you pick up your child at 1:45. This will help you get through the pick-up line and on your way before you get caught in the line of Kindergarten parents dismissing at 2:00.

*** Thursday is our music day. Please make sure your child is dropped off by 8:55 on Thursdays so they are able to walk in with the Blue Stars and be ready for music at 9:00!

Upcoming Theme: 11/26-12/7 Bakery; Senses

We will play a guessing game with different aromas in small canisters, touch, feel, and guess in a sensory game, and have a bread and jam tasting party.  I wonder which will be a favorite. On Friday we will have an “explosive” elephant toothpaste science experiment demonstration. We can’t wait!

Friendly Reminders:

  • Please label all your child’s winter clothes including coats, hats, and gloves.

Thank you wonderful Blue Star parents!
