Weekly News: Recap and Preview
Mother’s Day was a huge success. The children had so much fun sharing the activity centers with their Moms. We had fun dancing to “ The Mac Chicken” and singing “Skidamarink ”. Thanks to our special guests for coming.
We want to take this opportunity to thank all our wonderful parents who have supported us in all our ventures, supplied us with delicious snacks, organized class projects, volunteered in the classroom and cooked, cleaned, and many, many other ways you have made this school year a great success. We would not be able to do what we do without you! Thank you so much.
We want to wish our Summer Ladybugs a Happy Birthday Oliver Porcz (6/11), Eze Walters (7/7), Elyana Rivera (7/11), Emma Langham (8/8) Chloe Wilson ( 8/13).
The Ladybugs last day of school is on Thursday, May 16, if your child will not be here the last day of school, please let us know.

News from the Flock
RECENT NEWS: Thank you to all the Moms who came to play with us on Moms’ Day. We love having you in the classroom! We have been busy making lots of pizzas in dramatic play and our English muffin pizzas were a delicious snack.
WEEK OF: May 13-17, 2019
THEME: Favorite Bible Stories (wk #2)
BIBLE STORY: Lois and Eunice Taught Timothy (2 Timothy 1:3-7)
MEMORY VERSE: “But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me,…; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14
DRAMATIC PLAY: pizza parlor
HIGHLIGHTS: This week we will review our Bible stories and verses throughout the year as we read about Timothy's grandmother, Lois, and mother, Eunice, teaching him these same stories so long ago. We will close the pizza parlor and play in housekeeping as we finish the year. In art we will play with play dough, and weather permitting, paint with fly swatters outdoors. We will also read The Day the Babies Crawled Away and God Gave Us You.
Monday – Water/Mud Day - Our day will begin indoors. The cars will be unloaded from the kinder porch. Please send your child to school wearing a bathing suit, t-shirt and waterproof shoes. PLEASE SEND 2 TOWELS (Labeled with names). We will save one of the towels to sit on in the car. The last part of the day (2:15 until pick-up) will be spent on the playground doing fun wet stuff with the 4-day PM and five-year-old classes. Shoes must be worn at all times. Old tennis shoes and water shoes are preferred. Flip-flops and crocs are not recommended.
Wednesday - Last Spanish & Music classes – This will be the last day that Miss Sandy & Miss Lana will be on The Acorn campus this year.
Friday – Last day of school - The last day of school will be as routinely normal as possible so everyone can enjoy playing with their friends.
May 14, 21, & 22 – parent-teacher conferences
They say time flies when you’re having fun and that aptly describes this year. It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the end of it. Thank you to all the parents for your support throughout the year and sharing your kiddos with us.
