Happy Friday Acorn Families!
Welcome back! While we all welcomed a week of food and rest, we are thrilled to be back on campus with our favorite little Acorns. If you ordered a holiday wreath or firewood during our fall fundraiser, those have arrived and are available for pick up at school this week. We are currently collecting new and gently used toys for Elf Louise. Elf Louise is an Acorn alumni family who provide donated toys and books to families in need during the Holidays. The Acorn is drop off location so feel free to bring your donated items to us, and we will arrange for pickup with Elf Louise. As a reminder, you can also help support The Acorn by using Amazon Smiles when buying presents or by making a donation for your family or in memory of a loved one.
In past years, we have offered a STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting of Children Under Six) parenting class to our parents, typically occurring over several weeks for a small fee. We are preparing to offer this course again, via Zoom, in the spring. Additionally, we are in the process of designing monthly parenting talks with Dr. Mara Mauze on a variety of child development topics. If you are interested in either the STEP parenting class or the monthly child development talks, please email Mara at firstname.lastname@example.org We plan to distribute flyers with more information in a few weeks.
We are excited to announce our plans to have Mother's Day celebrations on campus again this year. While these events will take place in May, we want to share our tentative schedule with you. Please mark your calendar now. Specific details regarding activities and adult Covid protocols will be provided closer to the date.
