RED APPLE CLASS NEWSLETTER
JANUARY 14 to 18, 2019
Dramatic play: Housekeeping
Hello Red Apple Parents, we hope you had a wonderful holiday season and that you are enjoying a very happy new year.
We are starting this new semester welcoming two new students to our class. We happily welcome to our class Henry Harmel and Liam Whittington. Henry moved from a different Acorn class and Liam is new to our school. We love having you in our class!
At the same time we said goodbye to two of our friends. Ian Shipley moved out of town and Jack Dyer moved to a different Acorn class. We will miss them very much and we wish them much happiness in their new classes.
This week in our class we will be graphing how many vowels our first names and last names have as we begin searching for those letters in words around us. On Tuesday in Spanish class we will be cooking corn tortillas from scratch and enjoying them with a little butter. Thursday is our very popular yoga with Miss Terri; our class loves to take deep breaths and stretch while doing fun animal poses. We continue learning how to estimate quantities by using our estimation jar all most every week.
In art this week we are painting on the easel, painting with glitter and glue and using balloons to paint on Friday.
In small groups we are doing a science experiment using oranges and water. We are creating an obstacle course to practice balance and lastly we will use sequencing cards to put stories together.
Enrollment forms for the 2019-20 school year are being distributed today. You can turn them back in starting next Monday.
We wish you a happy and safe weekend.
The Red Apple Teachers,
Lourdes, Katie and Terri
