Tall Oaks is the Grade School campus of The Acorn – A School for Young Children, where students continue the joyful, hands-on learning experience that has defined our school for nearly 50 years. Purchased in January 2026 with the vision of growing one grade level per year, we will also be completing phased renovations over the next several years to deliver on our commitment to developmentally appropriate education, where children remain active participants in their learning.

At Tall Oaks, the physical environment supports making and doing. Classrooms and shared spaces provide room for art, building, writing, experimentation, presentations, and long-term projects.
We want children to see their school as a place where ideas can become tangible: where a question can become an investigation, an idea can become a model, and a project can grow from a child's own curiosity.
Room to Move and Play
Rather than treating outdoor time as simply a break from learning, we see nature as another classroom.
Tall Oaks provides outdoor areas where students can run, climb, explore, build, and engage in imaginative play. Students can take their questions outside, make observations, conduct investigations, and find inspiration for projects and creative work.
These spaces encourage children to develop physical confidence while also practicing cooperation, problem-solving, risk assessment, and leadership.

Every part of the campus—from the classrooms to the outdoor spaces—is intended to create a sense of belonging and encourage children to care for the people and places around them.
