Small Class Sizes, Meaningful Relationships

With intentionally small class sizes, experienced educators, and a screen-free environment, children are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, collaborate with peers, and develop the skills they need to thrive—both in school and beyond.  We are nurturing, half-day preschool and kindergarten with a full-day First and Second Grade program. We proudly serve children beginning at 2 years, 8 months through Second Grade (children who are age 7 before September 1).

One of the hallmarks of The Acorn education is our commitment to small class sizes and individualized attention.

Preschool: 4–5 students per teacher
Kindergarten, First Grade & Second Grade: 6–7 students per teacher

These low student-to-teacher ratios allow our educators to truly know each child, foster meaningful relationships, and provide individualized support while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

2026 - 2027 School Year

First Day of School (Preschool & Kindergarten): Tuesday, September 8, 2026

First Day of School (First & Second Grade): Wednesday, August 19, 2026

Before the school year begins, your child's Head Teacher will contact your family during the first weeks of August to schedule a home visit. These visits provide a wonderful opportunity for children, families, and teachers to begin building relationships before the first day of school.

Bridge Class Schedule Options

Our Bridge Class has been a successful option for Acorn families who need a longer school day. We are pleased to continue offering this flexible option for the 2026–2027 school year.

The Bridge Program allows eligible students to combine a morning and afternoon class, creating a full school day from 8:40 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Children participating in the Bridge Program have a dedicated space for rest and quiet time in the upstairs West Wing.

The transition between classes includes a Bridge Lunch Bunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Children bring their own nutritious lunch and have an opportunity to eat, rest, and recharge before their afternoon class. This dedicated space allows children to take a break between classes without disrupting the regular classroom program.

Because space is limited, families interested in the Bridge Program are encouraged to contact us as soon as possible.

Option 1: 5-Day AM Class + 3-Day T/W/Th PM Class

Students enrolled in the 5-Day AM Class may add the 3-Day PM Class.

Option 2: 3-Day T/W/Th AM Class + 3-Day T/W/Th PM Class

Students enrolled in the 3-Day T/W/Th AM Class may add the T/W/Th PM Class.

Option 3: 5-Day Five Year Old PM Class + 3-Day T/W/Th AM Class

Students enrolled in the 5-Day Five Year Old PM Class may add a T/W/Th AM Class.
