After a summer of hard work, renovations, and planning, our new Tall Oaks campus opens its doors!

A new chapter in The Acorn’s story has begun! Tall Oaks is officially open for classes, welcoming our First and Second Grade students to their new home.

Located near Trinity University, Tall Oaks expands The Acorn’s nearly 50-year tradition of nature-based, hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning into the elementary years. Our First and Second Grade students are beginning the school year surrounded by opportunities to explore, create, question, and discover.

From classrooms filled with curiosity to outdoor spaces designed for adventure, Tall Oaks is a place where children can continue to grow as learners, build meaningful relationships, and develop a lifelong connection with the natural world.

We are so excited to watch this new campus—and this next chapter of The Acorn—grow alongside our students and families.

Help create a special outdoor playground and garden in memory of our beloved Acorn alumna, Millie Kerr.

Construction is underway on Millie’s Playground, a special outdoor playscape and garden at Tall Oaks created in memory of Millie Kerr, an Acorn alum whose curiosity, compassion, and love of nature continue to inspire our community.

Designed as a place for children to play, explore, imagine, and connect with the natural world, Millie’s Playground will become a lasting part of the Tall Oaks campus and a meaningful space for generations of children to enjoy.

Thanks to the generosity of our founding supporters, construction has already begun—but we still need our community’s help to bring the entire project to life. Our fundraising goal is $250,000, which will help us complete the playground, garden spaces, and additional elements of this special outdoor environment.

Every gift, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to completing Millie’s Playground.
